- Allows selection of NTFS partitions as destination in
"Image Sets".
- Version 1.42 - Dec 18, 2002

of certain 'partition work' operations on the
partition.
- Version 1.31e - July 14, 2002
-
Imaging
directly to a CD drive with buffer under-run free encoding
will no longer attempt to prevent an under-run because some
drives don't acknowledge the write speed setting.

Hot-key
support for boot menu items. Prefix your menu items
with l) where 'l' is a letter of your choice.
- Version 1.31d - June 23, 2002
-
Corrected
canceling of a volume slide where the destination was to be

using undelete.
-
Added
support for one time option hot keys. You can use a

-
Other
misc.
- Version 1.31c - June 21, 2002
- Misc.( clean-up) changes.
- Version 1.31b - June 18, 2002
-
This
version corrects a problem introduced in 1.31 which caused
some users to receive failed
validations after imaging to CD. The CD image is in
fact okay and can be restored by versions prior to
1.31. If the CD was being restored to (and over) the
same partition is was backed up from then versions 1.31+ can
be used to restore only that the user must press
ctrl-alt-del (instead of enter) when the failure is
reported.
- Version 1.31a - June 09, 2002
-
Added
ability to choose a desired cluster size for FAT/FAT32
instead of always automatically selecting it. If the

-
New
"retain" option when setting up boot items.

-
Ease
of use enhancements for Linux users.
- Version 1.30 - May 03, 2002
- Adds support for imaging to DVD+RW devices/discs.
Tested with Philips DVD+RW/200. Confirmation of DVD+R
disc support will come later. Note that ISO9660 is
still used and therefore the entire CD is allocated for the
image backup. If the backups are small then you should
continue to use CD-R/RW media (you can use it in the DVD+RW
drive).
- other misc.
- Version 1.29g - Apr 19, 2002
- Clears more sectors when creating or deleting (with clear
bs) FAT32 partition. You can override the extra sectors
being cleared when deleting a FAT32 partition with the clear
bs option enabled by holding down left shift key as the
delete is performed (start holding when you confirm to
delete).
- Version 1.29f - Mar 28, 2002
- Corrected issue which occurred if BootIt NG was
uninstalled from a shared FAT32 partition which caused
scandisk to report that free space was being reported
incorrectly on that partition. The condition being
reported is harmless and it's safe to let scandisk fix the
value being reported.
- Version 1.29e - Mar 23, 2002
- Internal change/recompile.
- Corrected minor memory leak with reiserfs.
- Version 1.29d - Mar 21, 2002
- Added new Use HD0 in BPB option and support for it.
- Fixed the enter key to work on a list box when the mouse
is hovering over a button.
- Changed to allow Require User Name setting to work with
the IT Mode and/or BootNow support. If Require User
Name is enabled with IT Mode or BootNow support then you
must setup the default "any" user otherwise the IT
Mode/BootNow options will be ignored.
- other misc.
- Version 1.29c - Mar 12, 2002
- Fixed a problem found with the new memory detection
routine added to 1.29b.
- Version 1.29b - Mar 4, 2002
- Changed the way memory is detected.
- Added help to Direct Boot Menu (F1 or Items/Help).
- Added simulated boot option to Direct Boot and Normal Boot
Menu (hold down
left shift while attempting to boot) - useful if you have
Limit Primaries disabled and want to set a particular
partition active in the MBR.
- Version 1.29a - Mar 1, 2002
- Added ReiserFs support for
undelete/slide/copy/image/resize (partition boundaries
only). This addition does not work with the old (original)
ReiserFs (is anyone using it?). Additionally, the file
system must be in a Linux Native type (0x83) partition for
BING to recognize it.
- Version 1.29 - Feb 28, 2002
- Changed Icons.
- Corrected undelete to stop at 4 if limit primaries is
enabled.
- Added GoBack aware coding. (see help/information link for
more info)
- Corrected startup to issue error message instead of
getting stuck when trying to boot from a zeroed out partition.
- Version 1.28h - Feb 22, 2002
- Changed program to make it easier to recover from no
active partitions on the hard drive/etc. Now you can
simply boot and choose the Reactivate BootIt NG option even
if BootIt NG is really active.
- Changed program to at least create the code that would
enable a PC to boot a hard drive if pulled out of being a
slave to be made a master. This way you don't have to
go to the extra step of using the install standard mbr code
from view mbr that you would otherwise do.
- Undo EMBR will now keep some information it otherwise
wouldn't.
- A couple other misc.
- Version 1.28g - Feb 19, 2002
- Added new capture LVM feature. This feature is only
going to interest those people who know they need it.
If you don't know then you probably don't need it. For
the others: Please note that you are responsible for
keeping the LVM files up to date with any changes that may
occur. This feature simply allows you to capture a
state for a given boot configuration so that you can have multiple OS setups each using
LVM (i.e. a mix of OS/2 - eComStation). You should
also note that you must make sure that if you group
primaries with volumes that you should keep separate
extended partitions as appropriate.
- Changed the shutdown from insert/ctrl to Alt-0 (the number zero)
- Other misc.
- Version 1.28f - Feb 16, 2002
- Added new Limit Memory option when creating the
diskette. Some systems will lock up or reboot if
BootIt NG attempts to access the full amount memory
installed on the system. This will typically occur
when trying to boot from the installation diskette where the
system will lock or reboot at the "BootIt EMBRL
2.00" prompt.
- Version 1.28e - Feb 11, 2002
- Added power off option when at boot menu or maintenance
screen - To use: hold down the insert key then press
one of the Ctrl keys (while still holding insert down).
- Changed to allow restoring the image directly from CD's
burned with a program other than BING and BINGBURN.
- Corrected issue where a hidden NTFS partition (in the WWP
dialog) was not updated correctly if copied or slid.
- Added data only option when creating image to a file or
CD. Most users won't have a need to use it but to use
it, hold down the left shift key when pasting to a CD or
when selecting the file size for a file.
- Change so that the image direct to CD will work for a
Yamaha 2200E drive.
- Version 1.28d - Jan 31, 2002
- Added deployment support to setup routine.
- Version 1.28c - Jan 28, 2002
- If you ever used another company's product to expand a
NTFS partition either by resize or image restore then
certain fields in a certain single file may not have been
updated to reflect the way a MS formatted NTFS file system
would look. BING doesn't report this as an error, neither
does MS's chkdsk because technically it looks
okay. But this would cause BING to update one of
the fields to a value that would normally be correct but one
that technically doesn't look okay when compared with the
other fields. This update addresses that
situation. The incorrect field would not cause
any data to be lost and could be fixed via chkdsk/f.
- Version 1.28b - Jan 21, 2002
- Added support for Tweak NG.
- Modified the way the heap manager allocates memory.
- Version 1.28a - Jan 17, 2002
- Added ability to undelete image partition types. You
must hold down the left shift key when undelete is chosen
for it to look for image type partitions. The
recovered image type partition will only be valid if the
drive geometry and location on the disk is the same as when
it was created. Of course if you had created a
partition over the top of some of the data then the
recovered information will also be invalid..
- Corrected progress bar from shooting beyond end if imaging
a FAT/NTFS/EXT2fs partition and data only was unchecked
(caused by change in 1.26c)
- Two other misc. changes.
- Version 1.28 - Jan 5, 2002
- Changed so that the fix added in 1.26b for updating
volumes is actually run when sliding.
- Changed file size options for imaging to not be as conservative.
- Changed Fill CHS over 8GB to CHS Alternative.
- Renamed copying/sliding in process to be copy/slide in
process.
- Version 1.27g - Jan 2, 2002
- Changed mouse workaround from 1.27e to be an option when
creating the diskette.

Mouse/KB' option when creating the diskette.
- Version 1.27f - Dec 30, 2001
- Changed to not allow image button on hidden (type EDh)
partition/volume.
- Added "Unhide" button to properties for a hidden
(type EDh) volume.
- Version 1.27e - Dec 29, 2001
- Added work around for most systems with the BIOS
mouse/extended memory bug.
- Allow file system id input as octal (precede number with a
0), hex (precede number with a 0x), or decimal (start with
digit other than 0) instead of just decimal.
- Other misc.
- Version 1.27d - Dec 27, 2001

copied the partition from HD0 to HD1 and deleted and wiped
